This week I received an unexpected package from Loli, she was my secret friend in the X-mas swap organised by Mª Eugenia from the blog El Rincon de Paloma. It is so generous from her side... she did not have to send me anything else (specially after all the beautiful things she sent me back then in the swap) but she told me them that she wanted to send me some teas, and they would not fit into the package, so she wanted to send them now... and the most incredible thing is that they came together with some pretty fabrics! Loli, you are a great fabric chooser!
Oh dear, you are a sweetie... Thank you very very much!!

A Tisket, A Tasket, 12 Months of Baskets, de Bunny Hill Designs
Tengo tantas cosas a medias... ¡Y quedan tan bonitos terminados!
Little by little I am finishing the blocks of the BOMs I have enlisted in. I have so many things in progress... And they look so great once finished!
¡me encanta!
I am very happy with this first block of the free BOM "A Tisket, A Tasket, 12 Months of Baskets" by Bunny Hill Designs for many reasons. I have used felt to appliquè for the first time (I do not know if you can appreciate it in the picture but it is white felt with brilliant spots that came as a present with a handwork magazine, and since I did not have any wool for the snowman I thought it could look fine here), and also, I did my first french knots ever! Besides, the fabrics chosen I think they are quite similar in colour to the original... ¡I love it! (though the buttons are missing, I will put them altogether at the end of the project).
It is all appliquè with the needle turn technique (that is, turning the fabric with the needle without using freezer paper), that is the way I find it easier to do appliquè. What do you think?

Compritas...
Mirad mis últimas compritas...
Look at my last adquisitions...
A little steam-iron, for travelling and to take it with you in your sewing bag. It is so small! and ergonomic... to press the little colour patchs... And the superscissors to cut fabric in a zigzag shape... it is nice using it... a treasure because the seams look gorgeus and they do not unravel!! :))
And a lot of DMC floss... for the several SAL I enlisted... with this rythm I will end up having the complete collection... hehehe. They came together with some freebies. I bought them in the online shop Stitches N Things and they were quite cheap.

And here it is, first part of the SAL organised by Ara. A beautiful design by Bent Creek. I made it using DMC floss, I am not auch an expert to be using those so expensive threads :))) I think it turned out quite ok though... it has a mistake, can you see it?... hope not too obvious, hehe...

La costutarta de Lupe
Y por fin.... ¡La Costutarta de Lupe! And finally... Lupe's Sewing Bag!
Gracias Lupe...
I was looking forward to finish it... (I needed again my mum's help with the sewing machine, this is why it took so long)... we did it following the wonderful tutorial of Lupe in her blog here. Thanks Lupe...

This is one of the things I have been busy with this past weekend, with my mum's help (I am not very good with the sewing machine yet). My mum, tired of seeing when she ever came to my house, the cutting mat and the 60 cm patchwork rulers on the table, told me to look for some big spare fabrics and we started with it. I think it turned out great though the colour combination is not too fancy, but it very useful to carry them around and also to have them kept in a tidy way. We made it just with the measurements of the cutting mat, that you cannot see because it is inside, so that it cannot move too much inside, and with the spare fabrics we made a pocket in each side for each of the rulers (cm and inches). How do you like it?

Encuentros...
I should have done this entry some time ago... but I was feeling too lazy to take the pictures. :)) It's been 10 days since I met Adelaida from the blog Taller de Patchwork, that lives near my house and we had a coffee that took us 3 hours... we talked about patchwork and about meeting more times for stitchting together, since it is always great to stitch in company. It was great to meet her and I am sure we will meet more often. She gave me one of her pincushion-mouses as a present, that you can see in the image below.
And last friday I met Elveawen from El Baul de Elveawen, in Coruña. It was a not well planned visit but we had time to talk a lot about stitchting and of course to our shared hobbies because as she says in the blog, we are a pair of freakies, proud of being it, hehe... Sher gave me some presents made by herself (me, to tell the truth, with my constant lack of plannification, did not rise to the occasion, but I managed to make a pair of earrings, snif!... and gave her some fabrics I liked)... in the picture above you can see what she made, a beautiful bag for the cutter (with a cut like miiiiiiiiiiiine) and a pinkeep, the first I have and that is already as decoration in my house.
Gracias!! Sois geniales!! Thanks!! You are great!!

I could not manage... again (I must do something about it, this can't be...). It 's already some time since I saw this in come blogs and when the other day I saw it in Pili's blog that they were organizing it in the form of a SAL in the x-stitch forum... I could not help it. I hope I can keep up.
