Regalo de Navidad

Por fin ayer pude abrir mi regalito de Navidad del swap organizado por El Rincón de Paloma. ¡Qué emoción! Pues fue mi primer regalo de este año, ya que en mi familia somos un poco raritos y como el día que estamos todos juntos es el día de fin de año pues nos damos los regalos unos a otros ese día despues de las uvas, jeje... ¡pero este llegó por adelantado!
Me lo envió Loli de Santa Cruz de Tenerife del blog Taller de Loli y me envía unas cosas tan preciosas que no se si las fotos les harán justicia pero ahi van.

Yesterday I could finally open my present from the swap organised by El Rincón de Paloma. How much fun! Since it was my first present this year, because my family, we are a bit weird and since the day we are all together is on x-mas eve, well, we exchange presents that day after eating the grapes, hehe... but this one came in advance!
It was sent by Loli from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, from the blog Taller de Loli, and she sent me so beautiful things that I am not quite sure the pictures will be fair to the reality. Anyway there you have.

Había una tarjeta con una carta preciosa, unas cintas variadas, varios hilos de bordar (uno que olía a fresas, otro de la colección variations, otro metalizado y dos normales), un rotulador permanente, unos abalorios y unas estrellitas, unas pinzas con Papa Noeles, una cinta de navidad de Papa Noel, unos trozos de fieltro, un aparato para hacer yoyos, un alfiletero PRECIOSO, unas telas ESPECTACULARES. De una de ellas os pongo la foto entera pues es una monada y tenéis que verla entera.

There was a card with a beautiful letter, some laces, several threads for embroidery (one smelling like strawberry, other from the Variations collection, another metalized and two normal), a permanent marker, some bead and stars, some pins with Papa Noel, a X-mas lace with Papa Noel, some pieces of felt, a yoyo-maker, a BEAUTIFUL pincushion and some SPECTACULAR fabrics. Of one of them I wanted to put a picture of it because it is really beautiful and you must see it complete.

También os puedo enseñar ya lo que yo le envié en el mismo swap a Vero, de Las cosas de Vero, y que espero le hayan gustado también: le envié una pulsera de cristales de Swaroski, un guardatijeras y guardaagujas hechos a mano y luego unos trozos de tela, fieltro, hilos de bordar y acolchar, botones, agujas, y unas cintas.

I also can show you now the things I sent in the same swap to Vero, from Las cosas de Vero, and that I hope she liked them as well: I sent a bracelet of swaroski crystals, a scissor-keeper and a needler-keeper all made by hand, and some pieces of fabric, felt, embroidery and quilting thread, buttons, needles and some laces.

¡Por fin, la colcha de los ositos!

Por fin puedo enseñaros la colchita de los ositos que le hice a una compañera de trabajo que tuvo una niña preciosa llamada Sofia... hoy he ido a verla y se la he llevado y le ha encantado. Esta toda hecha y acolchada a mano y estoy muy orgullosa de como me ha quedado porque es la segunda cosa que he hecho en patchwork, y lo primero que llevaba aplicacion. ¿Os gusta?

Finally I can show you the little bears baby quilt that I made for a colleague from work that had a beautiful babygirl called Sofía... today I went to visit them and I gave her the quilt and she liked it a lot. It is all had stitched and quilted and I am very happy with how it ended up because it was the second thing I made in patchwork, and the first one using appliqué technique. Do you like it?

Intercambio A la Carta...

Y me acabo de dar cuenta, al subir la foto del intercambio de Najma que no habia llegado a poneros tampoco la de lo que le envie a Verónica de Perú en el intercambio organizado por Emilia! Que cabeza la mia, aunque con este mes que llevo...

And I just realised by uploading the picture of Najma¡s exchange that I never uploaded the one of what I sent to Verónica in Peru in the swap organised by Emilia! What a memory that of mine, though with the month I just had...

Pues aqui lo teneis, le hice un bolsito de patchwork (el primero que hago buf!) y le envie tambien alguna cosilla más: una revista de punto, unas cintas y unos botones... Me hubiera gustado enviarle mas cosillas pero la verdad no tuve mucho tiempo este mes... asi tengo todo atrasadisimo... ¿Que os parece el bolso?

So here it is, I made a patchwork tote (my first one, buf!), and I also sent some more things: a knitting magazine, some ribbons and buttons... I would have liked to send something more but to be honest I had not much time this month... that is how I have all so delayed... But what do you think of the bag?

Intercambio libreta alterada...

¡Por fin puedo mostraros el contenido del paquete que le envié a Sofia de Valencia (no tiene blog) en el intercambio Libreta Alterada o Biscornú organizado por Najma! Parece ser que a Sofia ya le ha llegado (se lo ha dicho a Najma) y aunque yo no he tenido noticias suyas pues espero que le haya gustado porque se lo he hecho con todo el cariño.

Finally I can show you the content of the package I sent to Sofia from Valencia (she has no blog) in the Altered Notebook or Biscornú swap organised by Najma! It seems Sofía has received it already (she told Najma) and though I had not news from her, well, I hope she liked it because I made it with all care.

Como podeis ver se trata de una libreta forrada con patchwork con la tecnica de aplicacion y luego le he enviado tambien unos pendientes hechos con cristales de Swaroski y algunas cosillas que me parecio que podia usar para hacer scrap (yo no hago scrap y la verdad no sabia muy bien que le podia ser util, espero que le sirvan).

As you can see it is a notebook altered with patchwork appliqué and also I sent a pair of earrings made with Swaroski crystals and some more stuff that I thought she might be able to use to do scrap (I do not do scrap and to tell the truth I did not have clear ideas of what could be useful for it, I hope they serve the purpose).

A contrarreloj...

A contrarreloj y en el límite he conseguido terminar las colchitas para los peques Pablo y Antón antes justo de ir a visitarlos a casa de mi compi de trabajo. ¿A que me han quedado bonitas? Estoy muy orgullosa porque es mi primer diseño de patchwork (bueno, los patrones de las letras los encontre en internet, pero la idea final es mía :). Como podreis notar si os fijáis una de ellas está más acolchada que la otra (problemas de tiempo) y a la de Pablo le unimos los cuadritos y las tiras laterales a máquina, pero todo el resto está hecho a mano. Definitivamente tengo que aprender a coser a máquina, adelanta mucho trabajo a veces.







Against the clock and in the deadline I have managed to finish the little quilts for the babies Pablo and Anton, just before visiting them at home. Don´t you like them? I am very proud of them because it is my first patchwork design (well, the patterns for the letters I found them on the internet, but the final idea was mine :). As you might notice one of them is more quilted than the other (timing problems), and in Pablo's, we put together the square pieces by machine, but the rest is all hand-sewed and quilted. Definitely I must learn how to machine-sew, it is crucial sometimes to save time.

Un poquito de bisutería...

Como os contaba en mi primer post, empecé en esto a través de la aguja de bisutería, y aunque ahora la tengo algo abandonada, os quiero enseñar algunas de las cositas que hice con cristales de Swaroski. Como veis, me encantan los pendientes, más que ninguna otra cosa, aunque también he hecho alguna pulserita (me las pongo menos).

As I told you in my first post, I started in the patchwork through the jewelry needlework, and though I have abandoned it a bit now, I want to show you some of the things that I did with Swaroski cristals. As you can see I like earrings the most, though I have also made some bracelets (I use them less).

Y este es un invento de mi madre para tener colgaditos y a la vista los pendientes. Lo tengo colgado en una columna del baño, entre los dos espejos, y es una idea genial, ya no tengo que andar rebuscando en el joyero para buscar los que me combinan con la ropa cada mañana ;)

And this is a creation of my mum to hang the earrings and have them where thay can be easily seen. I have it hanging on a pillar of the toilet, between the two mirrors, and it is a great idea, now I do not have to dive into the jewel box to look for those earring that suit my clothes each morning ;)

El famoso cojín-manta

Por fin he conseguido terminar el famoso cojín-manta que tenía en camino (en realidad mi primer proyecto de patchwork que estaba inacabado porque tenia que coser la manta a mano y me daba pereza). Mi madre me echó una mano y la cosimos a máquina, pero el resto está cosido a mano, acolchado incluido.

Al final parece que ha quedado bien, y ¡es tan calentita! con la cara interior de franela será genial para sentarse a ver la tele o coser en invierno... :)

At last I have managed to finish the famous "quillow" I had on its way (actually my first patchwork project that I had unfinished because I had to sew the blanket by hand and I was feeling lazy about it). My mum gave me a hand and we machine-sewed it, but the rest of it is hand-sewed, quilting included.

At the end it seems it resulted ok, and it is so warm! with the inner side made of flannel it will be great to sit and watch TV or sew in winter... :)

Alfiletero Pin Blossom

Siguiendo las fantásticas instrucciones del blog de Adi me animé a hacer el alfiletero de la flor. Resultó estar un poco por encima de mi nivel y le di unas cuantas vueltas antes de encontrarle "el xeito" (la manera correcta, como decimos los gallegos") pero creo que al final lo conseguí, un poco chapucero en las costuras pero en fin, el siguiente me saldrá mejor.

Por cierto, Adi, gracias por tus ánimos!! Eres la primera en hacer comentarios en mi blog!

Following the fantastic instructions of Adi's blog I tried to to the flower pincushion. It was a bit over my expertise and I gave it a few tried before I found the right way, bit I think I finally managed to do it, a bit sloppy in the seams but well, next one will look better.

By the way, Adi, thanks for your encouragement!! You are the first one to comment in my blog!

Marchando un album web...

Buf! cuanto he trabajado... llevo dándole a la costura y al blog desde ayer. Ya he abierto mi primer album de picasa para ir subiendo las fotos de lo que voy haciendo (lo podeis ver en la columna de la izquierda) y ahora a ver si voy añadiendo links de otros blogs de patchwork... (espero que a nadie le parezca mal, si es así decidmelo :)
Esta mañana he estado ocupada haciendo un guardatijeras siguiendo las instrucciones de Chelo en su blog y me ha quedado chulísimo, aunque claro, como yo lo hago todo a mano (no tengo máquina de coser), pues no lleva el festón de los bordes, solo le he puesto un pequeño acolchado sencillo. ¿Que os parece?

Buff!! How much work... I have been sewing and blogging since yesterday. I have opened my first picasa album to upload the images of what I am finishing (you can see it in the left) and now I will be linking other patchwork blogs... (hope nobody is bothered, if that is the case please tell me:)
This morning I have been very busy doing a scissor-keeper following instructions of Chelo in her blog and I think it ended up quite nice, though since I do all my sewing by hand (I have no sewing machine) it has a different outline in the borders, just a plain quilting. What do you think?
