Heirloom Birth Sampler

Y por fin el tercer objetivo del SAL Heirloom Birth Sampler. Este me dió mucho que hacer, sobre todo el Satin Stitch Rope de abajo de todo... sí, sí, como lo oís... no fue la vainica la que me dió la lata, sino la última fila, ¡que pensé que me dejaba los ojos en el bordado!! Y además para que cuando le sacaba las fotos (sin planchar, lo sé, pero ya veis que hora es), me diera cuenta de que me había equivocado con el hilo que había que usar... y en lugar del perlé del 8 usé el DMC normal de punto de cruz, por eso esta menos gordito mi bordado que el de las demás... y por eso casi me dejo los ojos... ¡mea culpa!

And finally the third objective of the SAL Heirloom Birth Sampler. This gave me a lot of work, specially the Satin Stich Rope in the lower part... yes, yes, you hear it right... it was not the hemstitching what troubled me but the last row, I thought I was leaving my eyes there!! And to finish it up, when I was taking the photos (no ironing, I know, but you see what time it is), I realised that I used the wrong thread to do it... and instead of the perlé number 8, I used normal DMC for x-stitching, this is why it looks thinner than others... and also this is why I almost left my eyes there... guilty I am!

Bueno, os dejo un detalle del bordado con la vainica, que me quedó superguay... y el conjunto final con la cinta. Tiene algunos fallitos más que no se si se notan (yo sí, claro, se me va la vista a ellos), pero me da lo mismo. A lo mejor un dia me animo y deshago la ultima fila para hacerla con el hilo correcto pero por ahora va así...

Ok, I leave you a detail of the embroidery with the hemstitching, that turned out looking great... and the whole thing with the ribbon. It has some more mistakes that I do not know if you can see (I do, of course, my eyes go there all the time), but I just do not care. Maybe some day I feel like undoing the last row to do it with the right thread but for now it stays as it is...

Estos días he tenido tan poco tiempo que no he subido las fotos de los regalitos que le envié a Ana Elizabeth en el swap Birdie Hanger. Ahora ya puedo decir que le han llegado y que le han gustado y me envio hace unos días un email precioso, lleno de cariño, dándome las gracias. Ana, eres un amor.

These days I have been so busy that I did not upload yet the photos of the presents I sent to Ana Elizabeth in the swap Birdie Hanger. Now I can say that she has received them and she liked them and she sent me a few days ago a sweet email, full of friendship, thanking me. Ana, you are a sweetie.

SAL Embroidery Guild

Me han llegado por fin los materiales para empezar el SAL de Little House Needleworks "Embroidery Guild", justo a tiempo, pues empezamos el dia 15 de abril. Es la primera vez que voy a usar hilos especiales, matizados, no se como resultará. Y ya se que me diréis que como se me ocurre meterme en más "fregaos" cuando tengo tantas cosas atrasadas pero... ay, que vicio este...


I have finally received the materials needed to start the SAL from Little House Needleworks "Embroidery Guild", just in time, since we start on april the 15th. It is the first time that I am using special thread, I hope it will turn out good. And I know, you will tell me that I am crazy starting new things when I have so many delayed objectives but... I just can't help it!

Here it is the third objective of the SAL Heirloom Birth Sampler organised by Aquí está la SAL. It has some mistakes but I won´t re-do it... this way it has more character.... :) I am only one objective late now, uf...

Heirloom Birth Sampler

Bueno... tarde como siempre... pero aquí esta el primer objetivo del SAL Heirloom Birth Sampler que organizan las chicas de Aquí está la SAL y que le tengo prometido a una amiga que ha tenido un bebé este mes. Entre que me llegó tarde el lino y que tuve mucho lío en el trabajo tengo todo muy atrasado.

Well... late as always... but here it is the first objective of the SAL Heirloom Birth Sampler organised by the girls of Aquí está la SAL and that I have promised as a present to a friend who had a baby this month. I got the linen late and had lots of work at my job and this made me delay all stitching.

Lo peor es que ya van por el tercero y yo tengo apenas empezado el segundo, que lleva más tiempo porque es más elaborado (a ver si lo termino este fin de semana y me pongo con el tercero pronto). Aquí podéis ver algunos detalles más de cerca.

Worst part is that they are doing already the third objective and I just started the second one, which takes more time because it is more difficult (I will try to finish it over the weekend and start the third one soon). Here you can see some detail from a closer look.

Es un SALmuy interesante porque lleva un monton de puntos especiales y me está gustando mucho hacerlo. ¡Gracias a las organizadoras por sus fantasticas explicaciones!

It is a very interesting SAL because it has lots of special stitchs and I am loving it. Thank you very much to the organisers for their great guidelines!
